The Robb Canyon Story
In the early 1970's the mutilated bodies of a woman and 3 men were unearthed in this, at the time, remote high desert canyon in west Reno. To this day, the murders have not been
solved, and several visiting psychics feel the dead may be attempting to engage the living to solve their gruesome murders.Currently the canyon sits below a city park, and the mesa-top high above is speckled with houses. Over the years, residents have reported seeing strange lights and hearing very disturbing sounds, including a bloodcurdling scream, that "you will never forget for the rest of your life" echoing up the canyon. Although many long time residents of the area are reluctant to talk about what they have experienced, it is hard to not find someone without a personal account of paranormal activity. Although many other west Reno parks are crowded in summer evenings; you will never see any one in here after sunset.
Reportedly, both the Reno Police Department and Washoe County Sheriff's office no longer respond to calls to investigate the disturbances in the canyon, and oftenly say "just close your window and stay out of that canyon at night".
When paranormal investigators enter the canyon, they are hit with an immediate and overwhelming feeling of dread and fear, causing many "premature" endings to their investigations.

In a narrower part of the canyon up stream from the bridge, Shadow Men have appeared to both Investigators and fixed infrared cameras. The phenomena seem
to center around the large dead tree next to the creek. Many reports of a horrible and prolonged scream emulate from this general area. This is also the area that "cold spots" are usually reported and physical contact felt. EVP recordings made here have produced low level "chant-like" whisperings. In a terrifing session in the fall of 2005, Mike Blankenship, an Investigator from Kansas was knocked to the ground here and held down for a few seconds by an unseen and unrecorded force.

Glowing Mist and Moans
WOW!
We had a fantastic outing last night in the canyon! At about 1am we started EVPs and although nothing answered our questions, we heard a continuious moaning and crying of a femake upon review later. VERY disturbing and startling.
We also spotted several vaporous glowing mist along the creek bottom that seemed to move against the wind which was blowing down canyon at the time.
We had a great time and will be raving about this location when we get back to Long Beach

Cold Spots, Battery Drain and Telekynesis
June 13th 2013
Upon researching the paranormal events which have taken place within Robb Canyon and the Rainbow Ridge Park area, our team of three investigators (Kurt, Jeff, & Dan), decided to conduct our own investigation of both the playground area where the spirits of children are alleged to be heard and seen, and the area located down the pathed walkway where four bodies were allegedly discovered; those of a sole female and three males whose identity is still to this day unknown. We began our investigation at approximately 11:00pm with clear blue skies overhead, a slight breeze moving towards the East, and a very light mist surrounding us from all directions.
We began our investigation at the playground area where we immediately recorded a series of cold spots located near the swings, ranging from a ten to twenty degree variance between swings (recorded temp at the time was 63 degrees F).
We then ventured down to the location where the 4 bodies were allegedly discovered, and set up for an EVP session, attempting to invoke the spirits. Just as we began the EVP session, the volume on our Spirit Box mysteriously muted, and the volume could not be regained even upon rebooting the Box a few times, as well as turning the volume switch both lower and higher. During our EVP session, we captured what appears to be a few logical responses to the questions posed during the session, which still need to be further analyzed for validity. Following our EVP session we decided to leave our voice recorder alone within the area, asking for the spirits to speak into the device while we were away from the area, if that is what they preferred. Upon returning to the area, I decided to ask if we could regain the volume on the Spirit Box, which immediately turned back on at full volume, just as I had it set the entire evening.
June 14th 2013
Following the events of the night prior, we decided to spend another evening at Robb Canyon, this time planning to venture down further into the canyon to the bridge location where Shadow figures and “chopping” sounds are said to be heard. For this night's investigation we also decided to increase the number of team investigators into the canyon area, which now included Kurt, Jeff, Dan, Jenny, Jayden, Brian, Allie, Jason, Setha, Donny, Natalie, and Tyler. We once again began our investigation at 11:00pm, this time with slight overcast up above, very slight breeze to the feel, and a light mist surrounding us, again from each direction.
The events of the night began instantly, as we immediately noticed one of the swings in the playground area gently moving back and forth as if someone was sitting in position on the swing......; there was not a strong enough breeze we experienced that evening that would have debunked this finding in our opinions. Upon zooming in on my handheld camcorder, the battery of the device mysteriously drained to 1% capacity aleviating me from filming a significant amount of footage (the camera was fully charged and verified to be charged prior to the commencement of our investigation). Then suddenly the lights overseeing the playground area turned off completely not two minutes following my camcorders battery drain, which did not power back on again during our entire investigation that night (Note: the lights never did shut off the night prior during our entire investigation). Again, we recorded a significant drop in temperature readings within the area, this time specifically from the readings of one swing in the playground area to the one next to it.
Following the evbents of the playground area, we treked down to the location where the dead bodies were discovered, and along the way a shadow figure was observed by Allie located within the trees on the opposite side of the discovered burial ground. While performing an EVP session within this area, we captured a female response of “can not” when asked if the spirits could tell us their names.
For our final destination of the evening we planned the entire hike down the canyon to the locations of the bridge, tunnels, and old dead tree, which we did not know the exact location of at the time of the investigation. It was a long haul through wild shrubbery, rocks, dirt, and water, all while observing the eyes of coyotes and whatever else was located within this area, observing us along the way. During the hike as well as our final arrival at the planned destination, we did not experience any of the claimed paranormal events that have taken place, but did witness a street light from above mysteriously power off and on continuously.....was this again a spiritual draining of power?
In conclusion, our team of investigators believe there truly are paranormal events which take place within the Robb Canyon area on a daily basis, and the hot spots to research, at least during our investigations, were located within the playground area and location of the dead body discovery. This place is deemed to be haunted!

Nausea, Strange Sounds and Frogs
We went down into the Canyon last night, and had a very interesting time.
First, we had 2 members of our group of 5 leave almost immediately from nausea. The wind was not pleasant, but we were able to pick up a few werid sounds on the recorder (scrapping and moaning). The sounds seemed to come from all around us but nowhere in particular. Very strange and unique.
After about 2 hours into the investigation, the frogs went silent and we felt a cold entity pass by, which caused the rest of us to head out of the canyon as well. .
We will try again later this summer for more evidence.

Unseen Entities and Spooked Wildlife
The investigation began at approximately 10 pm local time. My
son and I are both rookies at this and thought it would be fun to give it a
try. It was very dark and we were not prepared to venture into the scrub-brush
and risk a possible encounter with a rattlesnake. So we proceeded to hold our
investigation primarily near the path (which winds through the canyon quite a
distance) and at the park. We brought our video equipment which is not
necessarily equipped for night vision in attempt to capture some EVP. We did
encounter something unique and inconclusive that we will share and you can make
your own judgment. Video: http://youtu.be/HGxGqudkeFk
The first thing we did was try to get a lay of the land and
took a walk down the path towards the site where the bodies were discovered. After
we walked back to the park from the canyon, we observed a rabbit approximately
50 feet away in the grass. We proceeded to try to scare the rabbit by using our
flashlight. First focusing it on the rabbit and then back off the rabbit trying
to spook it – you will see evidence of this in the video. This was attempted
repeatedly. The rabbit refused to leave and we continued our EVP session with
our new friend. We have about 7 minutes of footage that relevant to share and the
first 5 minutes of the footage the rabbit is present. Our estimate is that the
rabbit had been with us for another 5 minutes as we sat on a bench with the
camera off before we started the EVP session.
As we started our EVP, we decided to include the rabbit in
the dialogue as we thought it is possible that the entities could be influencing
the rabbit in some way and this could lead to a sign. We asked a number of
questions and there is too much wind noise and ambient noise to hear replies if
there were any. Our first ask of the entities was to make the rabbit move,
immediately after asking to make the rabbit hop, then asked to have it hop back
towards the swings. It was our first attempt at EVP and we probably should have
asked a single question and waited for about 30 seconds before asking the next.
We did not do that in this case unfortunately. This rapid series of questions
also leaves room for interpretation. Almost as if the rabbit understood us, the
rabbit hopped away after we asked it too. We joked about it as you can hear
during the video. But as we thought more and more about it, it was very
coincidental to us.
You will notice the road noise in the background even though
the highway is quite a distance from park where we recorded the event. Human
ears did not detect anything unusual and this leads is to believe that it is
possible the rabbit could have been influenced by an entity. The video
equipment detected quite a bit of ambient noise (including a motor cycle which
was not near the park) and the rabbit could have been responding to that. Our
final ask was to have the rabbit hop towards the swings and it did not go in
that direction. After thinking about it and watching the video over again, we
both think it is possible that an entity responded to us. Later during our
investigation, we came across another rabbit, but this one was scurried away
very quickly, something we would normally expect when encountering a rabbit. We
included that footage as well for you to see. In conclusion, we are not 100% sure
the rabbit was influenced by an entity, but it sure does make us want to go
back to the canyon and try again.

Shadowman
We
were in the canyon last night and ran into some amateur investigators
trying to do EVPs with an iPhone app. We gave them a good website to buy
good digital recorders. Cool guys.
We didn't get much evidence last night, but do have a moving unexplainable shadow from a down canyon stationary camera that will need to be processed.
PS. The tree was removed a couple years ago when the drainage was modified by the City. It had been about 60 yards north of the path where it goes over the creek.

Shadowman and Chopping Sound
We had nothing to do last night so we went down to the canyon to see if this stuff is true.
First of all, the feeling of dread was clearly there foe us, although I wasn't sure if we were just making it up in our heads. After about 20 minues of nothing, a gust of wind blew down the canyon and rustled up the leaves a bit.
Then my brother spotted what looked like a shadow moving down along the canyon bottom. It moved back and forth but definitely deliberately down the canyon along the creek until it disappeared behind some trees. We were more excited than scared at that point, but not long later we heard what sounded like a chopping sound coming from the other side of the bridge. We tried to hike further down but it was very dark and very overgrown. The chopping sounds was like a hand ax whacking at a wet rotting tree, I suspect it is what a person being chopped up might sound like, and it was rather sickening.
After a bit, the chopping stopped and we heard voices coming from down canyon where the noise had come from. It sounded like a woman and two men arguing, but was very faint. Soon it stopped and we went to get coffee.
A very interesting night!

Parks Department asks for help
The Reno Parks department has asked that potential investigators conducting séances in the Robb Canyon area, please make sure to clean up all accoutrements and restore rock circles to their original appearance after investigation.
Also, the use of open flames such as candles can be very dangerous in this dry desert environment, particularly under windy conditions.
With the increased traffic of investigators during this "most active" of the year, please be careful of the native vegetation and wildlife in the canyon as well.

Spooky EVPs and Chanting
Wow! A great night in the canyon! We got a bunch of spooky EVPs and a couple really cool shadows on the full spectrum camera. Evan and Julie reported hearing a chant like sound coming from down canyon, but it wasn't recorded on any of the devices we had running..
We didn't get any video this time as both sets of batteries on the cam were dead when we arrived at the canyon. The is a lot more wildlife running around down there this year, apparently not afraid of the spirits who also dwell nearby.

Quiet Night But Still Creeped Out
We went down to the bridge last night but didn't see or hear anything. It was very quiet and kind of peaceful.
After a while my friend started to get a bit creeped out so we left.
Are there any guided tours of this canyon? Seems like an interesting place.

I live blocks away. I've been there more times than I can count, I feel like the word 'ghost' doesn't fit as much as ET. Much more occasions with lights and weird noises than cool temps or anything of that nature. I actually went searching for anything online and was glad when I found this site with this info. Something strange for sure.

Vomiting, Disorientation and an Unseen Entity Assualt
You were right. This place is crazy!
We traveled over the hill for a night-time investigation, but in hindsite I don't think we were prepared for "The Canyon" physical impact on the team.
We arrived at about 1030pm and were a bit dismayed by the highway noise. Didn't seem very spooky. Then Roger said he didn't feel good. Said he felt dizzy and squatted down. We were down by some big rocks on the dirt path at this point.
I figured he was screwing around like usual, but then he started moaning and spitting. We asked him if he wanted to go back up to the van but he got down on his hands an knees and started vomiting. Heidi was sitting with Roger when we heard fairly loud footfalls coming down the path. At this point I figured the investigation was over as Roger was fully sick and trying to lay down in the dirt and barf.
I flicked on my flashlight, expecting to see a late night jogger or dog walker, but there was nothing. The footsteps got louder and I started to speak up to the others when something hit me square on the chest knocking me flat on my ass.
I caught of whiff of rot and decay as Heidi started screaming. My flashlight had gone off and was lost in the dark somewhere. I could hear some heavy breathing sounds, and by this point I was staring to lose it too. I could hear the rush of blood in my ears and I was starting to have flashbacks to Iraq.
We managed to quickly get Roger on his feet and up the hill to the van. I remember thinking that I did not want to look back into the darkness as I didn't want to know what might be standing there.
Roger recovered over the next hour, but insists that he didn't fall apart like he did. Heidi doesn't want to talk about what happened, and says she is done with Para investigating.
I am pretty psyched about the experience, but think I might bring a Priest with me if we ever attempt a Robb investigation again.

Nausea, Ghostly Black Mass and Shadow Man
Me and my brother went down into the canyon on Saturday night with a camera and a tape recorder. It was really cold in the canyon so we only stayed for a little while. It sounded like there was something in the bushes, but we didn't see anything. After about an hour my brother started feeling really sick, so we bailed. He had horrible nightmares but says he doesn't remember any of them.
When we looked at some of the photographs today, there's this weird black area in front of some bushes that we didn't see when we were down there. The moon had been very bright and I think we probably would've just seen it. Who knows. The shadow is in some pictures, but not in others.
We don't have a digital recorder, but when we turned up the volume on one of the taped "sessions", it sounds like there's a very quiet "moaning" going on in the background. Kind of spooky.

Destroyed Electronics
We got two digital recorders back from the manufacture yesterday, with a note saying they were "unrepairable".
These two recorders had been "drained" of power while we were investigating down by the tree. They wouldn't take a charge later, so we sent them back.
One of our digital cameras also has what appears to be a digital lens flare, but it's not under warranty anymore.
All of this damage occurred during our investigation in the canyon last summer, and needless to say we're not very happy. We also had two members of our group quit investigating with us because of the nightmares they've been having since the investigation. Thanks for your help, but I think we'll just stick with messing around Virginia City from now on.

Reno Ghost Hunters Return
We returned to Robb Canyon and even though there were a group of about 10-12 high school kids partying at the park at the top we did seem to have some activity. I know there would have been more if we were alone but it is what it is. We got another good EVP voice and another strange mist that seems to have a figure in it. (See photo gallery) got a bunch of orbs through the night. Because of the unexpected guests at the park we decided to check out Mt. Rose school due to the age of the school. At night the school was creepy and more orbs were caught but nothing really strange happened. It was a fun trip but not as eventfull as we would have liked.

On Friday, 10/29/2010, our group at about 12 midnight went to Robb Canyon, an area where a lot of weird incidents were reported. It was our first trip there. It was dark and creepy but we didn't see any shadow people or much of anything else. A few orbs were caught on our cameras less than what we caught in Virginia City, but still an interesting place. After we returned home and checked our EVPs, we did happen to catch some voices of what seemed to be intelligent responses to the questions we asked. One we caught sent chills down to our spines. We do believe that there is more to that place and plan to return.

Weird Cold Spots
"Spent Friday night in the canyon bottom. The wind played havoc with our digital recorders. How can it be this windy here? Probably got nothing, although we haven't listened to all of it yet.
The canyon was certainly one of the creepiest places we've investigated, and will come back in October when the historic peak of the haunting season takes place. One of our team reported their hair being yanked, and we had battery drain on couple flashlights and a digital video recorder.
There was one perpetual cold spot just north of the bridge, near the little pond area. The air temperature was 80° and we're getting hits for 60° and lower. We couldn't find anything that cold in the area, including the water that was in the creek. I can't explain it."
Thanks again,
Billy W.

White Mist and Vertigo
Thanks for the help on Saturday night! I can't believe I forgot my recorder!
We had a pretty good investigation, spotting what appears to be a Shadow Man down by the Boulder at the bend south of the bridge. I also think I heard the chopping sound, although the reporter didn't pick anything up. Strange.
We took a lot of full spectrum photographs, and there appears to be some sort of white-ish mist near the tree, but we want to take a look at it back in Phoenix. Have you ever seen anything or heard of anyone reporting this?
Our newest member reported feeling severe vertigo upon arriving in the canyon, and we think even threw up, but he won't tell us. Of course that may have had something to do with the mai tais on Friday night!
Talk to you soon,
Pete P.

Full Body Apparition
"I have lived in the neighborhood since 2003, and I've heard many, what I thought, were ridiculous stories, about this place. I've changed my mind after what happened last night.
I walk my dog through the canyon a couple times a week, usually during the day. Last night however, I went down there after 11 PM. Usually I listen to an iPod in one ear, and last night as I went down into the canyon I kept hearing footsteps behind me. I took the iPod earbud out, listen very carefully for quite a while.
My dog, a standard poodle, was on edge. She kept sitting down and looking around. If she had hair, I suspect they would've been standing up on her back. I've never seen her act that way, and I figured there must be a coyote around or something.
When we got to the bottom of the canyon, I turned around to look behind me, but this time about 30 feet back, standing right on the trail was a man looking right at me. It immediately startled me, as I just walked through there and hadn't seen anyone. My flashlight beam wasn't very strong, however I could clearly see red blood running down his face. He look to be about 50, and was wearing a collared flannel shirt beneath a dark jacket with dark pants and heavy boots. His expression was blank, and his eyes did not shine in the flashlight beam. We stared at each other for a couple seconds before he took a step towards us. My dog made a strange sound and bolted the other direction, nearly jerking me onto my back with a leash.
After I regained my balance, I shined the light back towards the man, but he was gone. I spun around in a frantic search, my dog still trying to escape up the trail.
I turned and managed to walk about three or four steps before the fear consumes me and I took off running.
I'm getting chills right now just thinking about it.
You will not find me in that canyon after dark. Ever.

Shadow Men, Footsteps and "Go Away!"
From ufofreeparanormal.com
On the outskirts of the sagebrush stricken highway that runs west of Reno, Nv—heavy with dust— there is a canyon that has been infamously labeled as “Haunted Robb Canyon.” Supposedly—back in the 70’s—four bodies were unearthed—their brutal murders were never resolved. Rumor—now legend—claims that if you go down into the canyon (specifically near the dead tree), you will experience the following: bloodcurdling screams, pronounced cold spots, full body apparitions, shadowy figures, “chopping” noises, disorientation and the feeling of “dread.”
So, that’s the story—I, being a paranormal researcher, decided to lead two separate investigations down into this supposedly haunted canyon. Here are my accounts:
6/19/10—
After a three-hour inspection the day before—to familiarize ourselves with the territory— last night—between 11pm and 3am— eight of us ventured into Robb Canyon. After planning this ghost hunt for nearly a year, we were well prepared—equipped with both audio and video recorders (not to exclude a first aid kit, three heavy-duty flashlights, static electricity lantern, blanket, food and drink). And after close analysis of the previously reported haunts, we were ready to approach the canyon with both logic and open minds, while we searched and listened for “chopping noises,” “screaming,” “strange lights,” “shadow people” and “cold spots.” And although we were hopeful that every reported haunt was much more than a mere fabrication, we were, indeed, prepared to debunk every claim.
We went with a plan: we were to spend one hour (or so) on the cemented path—the one that begins at the Rainbow Ridge Park—and two hours in the back of the canyon (closer to the interstate) where the “dead tree” rests next to the creek—deep in this canyon’s dark, black heart . In the hour spent near the park, we experienced chopping noises that seemed to be coming from the creek and a patch of trees. This noise was faint and seemed to come in increments of fifteen seconds—but, however creepy, could simply be the promotional flags blowing in wind—the ones that sit on the upper right hand corner of the canyon in the new housing development (Note: there was no wind that we could feel or see). In the same area where the chopping was heard, two of us headed to the bank of the creek to attempt an EVP—a small, but distinct gasp is heard shortly before the audio was stopped.
At 2am—after a dangerous hike below the interstate—we arrived at the infamous “dead tree,” where we set up another camp; however, it is vital to note that before arriving at this destination, three of us experienced technical problems with our cell-phones—at exactly the same time: the pictures I had previously taken (near the chopping noises) were mysteriously deleted from my phone, and the other two cell-phones shutdown completely for a brief amount of time. Anyhoo, after the eight of us settled into a circle near the dead tree, an extremely curious and extremely cold “cold spot” joined us and continued to hover briefly in front of every individual—each of us held out a hand and followed it around the circle (this continued on for at least ten minutes and was the most remarkable of all personal evidence!)
Shortly after our experience with the cold spot, we divided into pairs— with a 20 to 50 foot separation—for EVP and video. While personally recording audio and after several attempts to get a response, the only reaction was triggered by a question concerning murder, when a cold spot seemed to move right through me as it turned my breath white and numbed my fingertips—lasting briefly before I remembered that it wasn’t winter! … Amazing! Note: when a different pair—in different location—also asked about murder, the same phenomenon occurred.
At exactly 3am— in the middle of our investigation— seven of us felt the overwhelming need to leave. I watched as the rest of the group—in a hurry— packed up and began to scurry to the nearest way out of the canyon. When we got home, one member offered an explanation to the sudden and abrupt departure: “If we had stayed, something would have gone down—I could feel it! I didn’t want to say anything because I didn’t want to scare anyone, but the whole time there, the spirits were simply tolerating us … if we had stayed any longer, something bad would have happened.”
In conclusion, only one EVP was discovered, and we have only personal testimony as proof to our claims. Is Robb Canyon really haunted? Well, personally, I am not completely convinced; therefore, we will be heading back—in a smaller group—within the next two weeks. Although the cold spots—near the dead tree— were an amazing phenomenon, we—as a group—have decided that the part of the canyon that is closest to the park (where the EVP was retrieved) has the most potential, so that is where we will be closely investigating next time.
Personal accounts not mentioned above: being pushed to the ground, shadowy figures, feelings of dread, rustling of bushes on command (during an EVP), crackling branches and some audio equipment failure.
6/26/10 (full moon)—
My second Robb Canyon investigation began as 7 of us arrived at the Rainbow Ridge Park around 11pm—on a full moon. My plan was to attempt to debunk the “chopping noises” that were heard during our prior investigation, which occurred on the cemented trail below the park. I was also hoping to catch more EVP, and equipped with a better camera—hoping to catch the unexplainable on video or still-image. I had little interest in the dead tree area that is located deep in the canyon—though I had a feeling that I would end up hiking down there, yet again.
My first unexplainable experience took place when we first arrived at the park—as four of us stood outside of my vehicle—waiting for the other three to arrive—I heard what sounded like teenage boys shouting and laughing from somewhere below the park. I remember feeling disappointed that our near-future ghost hunt would have to be cut short, due to the canyon being occupied by a drunken group of teenagers; however, while walking down the trail—below the park—and after a four hour investigation of the entire canyon, the seven of us seemed to be the only ones there.
After settling on the cemented trail—near the creek where we had experienced the chopping noises and our first EVP—the moon was especially bright and all that was heard was an orchestra of frogs, crickets and a babbling brook; however, shortly after 12am, shadow figures began to scurry between trees and unexplainable noises began to be heard. Taking advantage of the moment, we split into two groups to perform EVP—one group crossed the creek and stood in a patch of trees, and the other—my group—stood on the bank of the creek where the shadowy figures were seen. In my group, two members reported seeing a somewhat transparent face in the bush where peculiar noises were being heard; however, when pictures were taken, only the bush could be seen. Although nothing concrete could be captured during those moments, three EVPs were recovered and remain unable to be debunked: while one member stated, “I think we should leave …” a female voice is heard saying “thank you,” and shortly before that, a male voice is heard saying what sounds like “bitch bitch” or “snitch snitch.” Also, the group on the other side of the creek caught the chopping noises on their audio, but did not hear this at the time of recording. Residual haunt?
At around 1am, it was decided that we would hike down into the canyon, where the infamous dead tree remains and previous cold spots were felt in our last investigation—nothing much was recovered here, but the same curious cold spots and an EVP that two members were able to debunk.
After hiking back up to the park, three members decided to depart, while the remaining four chose to record more EVP in the playground area. After some local residents have seemingly reported seeing child-like apparitions in this area, our group of four decided to sit ourselves directly on the play-equipment that consisted of a raised circular platform, a wooden bridge and steps that lead to a high slide. During our investigation here, I again heard what sounded like kids or teenagers partying somewhere in the canyon, and shortly after that, we experienced an extremely loud shuffle and/or footstep on the steps that lead to the slide, which was caught on audio. Also caught on audio—while attempting to communicate with a child spirit— was a long, but low female-oriented moan … After the loud shuffle was heard, panic was felt and it was decided that we should leave.
I have not yet analyzed the still images, nor have I uploaded the EVPs to my computer—I will post my evidence as soon as this is done. It is my opinion—after two thorough investigations of the canyon and surrounding park area—that Robb Canyon and Rainbow Ridge Park do carry paranormal activity. I do plan on leading another investigation into the playground area; however, I am satisfied with my findings in the canyon: the spirits near the dead tree seem to be at rest, lack the interest in human communication … and do not desire to be bothered. However, if you ever get the itch to do a little ghost hunting, Rainbow Ridge Park seems to be the home of some very interesting spirits, who seem to enjoy hunting you, as well. Happy ghost hunting J
Updated Information—
A week after our second investigation into Robb Canyon, our audio and still images were thoroughly examined and the following evidence was found …
EVP’s: in the same area where the “thank you” was heard, I was asking the spirits if they needed help in solving their murders—the response was “Go away!” And in the same area, when another team member asked the spirits to give a sign of their presence, the response was “Whatchu want?”
Still Images: although dust surrounded us the entire night, one picture—captured near the dead tree—reveals numerous amount of orbs that surround two team members while they convince each other to jump across one of the creeks.

An Odd Mist and Uneasy Feelings
From Les Chassuers de Fantome
Investigation: June 7, 2010 & June 13,2010
We did two investigations on Robb Canyon. The first investigation was a pre-investigation, we went while it was still light outside and took 67 photos. Out of all of the photos for the investigation one of them caught my attention while just scanning through the file. This photo, for some strange reason, makes me really queasy just to look at it.
The next Investigation we had was on the evening of June 13, 2010. We had a total of 123 photos taken at this investigation and came out with one really odd mist. Each photo was taken 15 seconds after each other. Notice the difference in the center of the pic? This is our take on it, do you see anything out of place?!?

Full Moon and Too Many People = FAIL
Trying to to investigate in the canyon this weekend was massive FAIL! Moon was super bright, but they were people walking through the canyon all night!
I think the newspaper article brought out a lot of people, and hopefully they will forget about it so we can have some quiet to fully investigate.

Creekside Shadowy Shape
I saw the story in the RGJ yesterday and it reminded me about something that had happened to me about 5 years ago while walking my dog in the canyon one evening.
I was walking down the dirt trail right at dusk on fall evening, when my Rott Buster suddenly sat down and made a very strange low howl, while looking down at the creek. He had never done that before, and it made me think he saw a snake or something. Then I saw a black shadowy shape moving through the weeds on the other side of the creek. It was sort of a blobby shape and made no sound at all as it shuffled down the creek bottom. I watched it travel down the creek behind a tree before it blended into the darkness.
We moved out to Spanish Springs not too long after that, I totally forgot about it till yesterday.

Haunted Encounters Tapes Episode in Robb Canyon
"Haunted Encounters" Production LLC wrapped it's investigation last night in the canyon. The 6 person crew, based in Burbank, filmed the 3 night investigation by Paranormal Investigator team Drew and Angala Lee from Boston.
The Lee's are on a nationwide tour of "Haunted Hotspots" in preperation for a forthcoming book.
Although the producer of the show kept quiet on what may have been recorded by the film crew, she did tell me that she was very impressed by interviews with nearby homeowner's personal accounts.
Air date for the show is late October 2009.

Dogs Panic
While walking through Robb Canyon, I have had my 3 dogs freak out and run away in terror. I always thought that there was something wrong with this place and since I found this web site, I now know why I thought it was so creepy. Thanks for opening my eyes and bringing out the truth, I owe you!

"I might just move back to Milwaukee"
We recently moved into the neighborhood and were very surprised to find out about the local ghosts. We have walked down in the canyon many times, and my wife is always mentioned that she didn't like the area at the bottom.
It's always much colder than the area around it, but I've never felt anything.
My neighbor/friend swears that if you sit on his deck at night you'll hear all kinds of strange noises coming from the canyon. We were setting up dates for this spring and summer to get the neighbors out for a"ghost listening party", however after reading some of the accounts on this site, I might just move back to Milwaukee!

Interested Investigator
I am interested in experiencing more in the canyon. I would like to learn anything and everything about it. If someone has information not given, or if someone would like to take me along when they go back to the canyon that would be great. I live a few streets away so any time. Terrified Neighbor
Hi,
One of my neighbors showed me this site last week. I had no idea that all of this was going on right below my house. Apparently I am the only one in the neighborhood has not heard or seen anything, yet I guess. We've lived in this house for three years now and live right above the canyon on -------------.
Last spring we ran into a group of paranormal investigators from Chicago as they were coming out of the canyon on Sunday morning. I thought it was like a one time deal, but my neighbor tells me that there are groups in the canyon at least twice a month all summer long. I guess I really do need to start paying attention.
By the way, my neighbor is absolutely terrified of the canyon, and won't go down there day or night. I guess that's pretty typical around here.
Sincerely,
Joel -----------

Cold Spots And Dread
Me and a few friends went up here tonight and being as we are amateurs we took a Ouija Board up there with us. As we walked farther down the path (starting at the courts at the park) I felt more and more insecure. We got to a point along the path where it curves and it got cold. not very much was discovered, but we are all eager to return.

Terrifying EVP's, and Terrified Investigator
Hi again,
Thanks for your help again with logistics for last weekend's fun in Robb. We always have great success at this location: I really think it is the most haunted place I've ever been.
We brought a newbie along this time, and she was scared to death the whole time. I think some of it had to do with the reputation of this location, but she did report the typical "Robb disorientation" that many people feel, as well.
I will forward you some of the EVP's we got if I can get my laptop to work, and please let me know when your psychic friend wants to try the séance in the canyon. There are some pretty angry spirits down there I think.

Infrared Video, Disturbing EVP's And the Chopping Sound
October 1, 2008
In our second attempt to investigate this site we hit the jackpot last night!
When we're here at last spring due to numerous equipment failures and a couple sick team members, we really were unable to investigate to any extent, and then of course, we managed to show up a day before a big snowstorm came in. This time we recorded what might be our teams best infrared video of an entity; some of the most disturbing EVP's we've ever heard and recorded digitall ythe infamous "chopping sounds" as well as a distant scream.
After we return to Richmond, I will get some links to you so that you can see what we caught in a canyon this week. The infrared video will certainly like the paranormal world on fire as it is the most amazing piece of footage I've ever seen. It's to have seen the image so clearly on the camera, while seeing no one walking along the creek in front of me was about the strangest experience I've ever had.
Thanks for your help with the info on the site!
We will be in touch.

Unseen Presence And the Chopping Sound
I went there a month ago and we heard strange tapping or chopping noises coming from up the canyon somewhere. Since it was around 2:00 am the traffic was minimal and we could hear very clearly. We both felt as if we were being watched and followed the whole time, especially after we ran into some very cold spots. We plan on returning soon.

Massive Battery Drain, Chopping Sounds and Physical Assault
Pratt and Ed from SLC Paranormal spent the last 2 nights in the canyon. Although the evening winds made havoc of EVP efforts and the smoke from California wildfires made Friday Nights efforts miserable.
Only "sickening feelings" were reported by the 2 on Friday, with no evidence collected in the 10p-4a investigation hours.
However on Saturday night, Ed recorded and heard personally the sound of heavy chopping coming from down canyon from the Bridge. The sounds were sustained for nearly thirty seconds and when the two arrived at the clearing maybe 30 seconds after they ended, no one was found. Also no images were recorded on the IR camera that had been placed in the clearing prior.
Both investigators also reported feeling as if they had been "touched" or pushed at various times Saturday night, and the team had also had massive battery draining issues on Saturday Nights efforts. often thought to be related to paranormal activity.

Sense of Alarm And Moving Cold Spots
A friend and I went to Robb Canyon and we heard the chopping noises you mentioned. We dismissed it as nothing important although now that I recall it, my friend and I felt a strong need to stay away from the area the sounds were coming from...which was from up the canyon from where we were standing.
We also felt very cold spots that seemed to follow us and an overwhelming sense of alarm that I have never felt before. Needless to say, we plan on returning very soon.

"Creepy Canyon" But No Results
Been there, investigated it. Didn't get anything. Nothing happened. Creepy Canyon though, I'll give it that.

Possible Paranormal Assault in Canyon
A group of local amateur Para-Investagators spent half the night in the canyon, but will not return calls or email as to what was seen or recorded.
One of the team of three had contacted the Blogmaster to specifis about the canyon's history and had stopped by to borrow a tripod for a camera.
At 230a my doorbell rang and their was the tripod sitting there.
Apparently the Police had also been called into the canyon after midnight, according to neighbors, although no one knows for what reason, or who called them. The is no report of a call in the RGJ Police Blotter.
Please contact the BlogMaster if you know what happen on this investigation.

UNR's PNIG: EVP's, Overwhelming Terror, Whispers and a Shriek
I recently started a UNR student-based paranormal investigation group in Reno and we decided to investigate the Robb Canyon haunting. So far we have only done small preliminary investigations into the site and plan on doing a thorough investigation tomorrow night. Here is a list of what we experienced thus far:-upon walking into the canyon (on all occasions), we experienced feelings of overwhelming terror and anxiety strong enough to make us want to leave before we have even started-strange lights and sounds (moaning, whispers, and a possible distant shriek of a woman)-moving shadows-on one occasion, as we were walking along the path we felt the sensation of being forced to one side accompanied with a feeling of disorientation-the chills were almost constant in some spots-we have managed to capture 3 possible EVP's (it was often breezy and the sounds of the interstate make it hard to be sure). 2 of which seem to be the voice of a woman saying "go" and "go away".-we also managed to take several pictures that appear to contain bright lights and orbs (I am almost certain they are orbs because they are bright, they appear alone [only one orb per picture], and they seem to be too far away to be the reflection of the flash off dust particles)We are a new group and we are still learning and fine tuning our skills and equipment. We continue to learn more and more about investigating every time we go. If you would like to hear about our findings in our investigation we plan on conducting tomorrow 4/9/2008, please feel free to e-mail me (---------nevada.edu). Also, if you have any further information about what happened in Robb Canyon, I would really like to hear about it.

Most Haunted Place In Western US
"I think this may currently be the most haunted place in the western US. I can not wait to go back and see what else we can catch. It is rare to get any hard evidence in this field. We got a lot at this spot. If you don't believe in ghosts. Go to Reno Nevada: Robb Canyon will change your mind."

Very Dark and Sinister Place
"At first it was very quiet, but once the moon set, the whole experience changed. This is a very dark and sinister place. Something very bad happened here. "

Most 'Psychically Turbulent'
"I have heard about this place for a number of years, but now having visited twice, I think it is the "hottest" and most 'Psychically Turbulent' spot I have been outside of Europe."
